Dominic's Priorities
These are the most important issues for Dominic and where he expects to make the biggest impact for Tennessee families.
1. Affordability: Balancing the Family Budget
Middle Tennessee is becoming more expensive by the day. Dominic believes that state government should be a partner in lowering costs, not a burden on your wallet.
• Property Tax Protection: Dominic will fight to ensure that rapid growth doesn't mean your property taxes skyrocket. He supports state-level protections for long-term homeowners and seniors on fixed incomes.
• Fair Wages for Honest Work: A "livable wage" isn't a political slogan; it’s a necessity. Dominic supports raising the minimum wage to reflect the modern cost of living in Wilson and Davidson counties.
• Lowering Housing Costs: By incentivizing "missing middle" housing and cutting red tape for local builders, we can ensure the next generation can afford to live in the community where they were raised.
2. Infrastructure: Growth That Pays Its Own Way
If you live in District 46, you know the frustration of sitting in traffic on roads that weren't built for this many cars. Dominic brings 20 years of maintenance and construction management experience to this problem.
• Impact Fees, Not Tax Hikes: Dominic’s philosophy is simple: New development should pay for the new infrastructure it requires. We must ensure developers cover the costs of roads and utilities so the burden doesn't fall on current taxpayers.
• Smart Traffic Solutions: It’s time for a data-driven approach to our intersections and transit corridors. Dominic will prioritize state funding for projects that actually reduce commute times for District 46 residents.
• Modernizing Utilities: From high-speed internet to reliable water systems, Dominic will ensure our infrastructure is ready for the 2030s, not stuck in the 1990s.
3. Education: Every Student, Every Path
Dominic believes our schools are the heart of the community. As someone who has worked with youth for decades, he knows that "one size fits all" doesn't work in the classroom or on the ballfield.
• Funding Our Public Schools: Dominic will move to eliminate the school voucher program. Public tax dollars belong in the public schools that serve the vast majority of our children.
• Expanding Vocational & Trade Options: Not every path leads to a four-year university. Dominic will champion dual enrollment and trade school partnerships in high schools, ensuring our students graduate with the skills needed for high-paying jobs in the local economy.
• Empowering Teachers: We need to treat teachers like the professionals they are. This means competitive pay and the resources they need to focus on teaching, not testing.
